Filing dates for the April, 2026 municipal elections are December 9-30, 2025. This includes city councils and school boards throughout Phelps County. Even though these elections are nonpartisan, they are really important in terms of what is happening in all of our daily lives. If you are interested in running for a local office, visit the website of your city or talk with someone at your city hall or school administration office.For Rolla City Council, more information on the City Council can be found at:
https://www.rollacity.org/government/city_council.php. Filing location is the City Clerk’s office in Rolla City Hall and begins at 8 a.m. on December 9. Bring a current driver’s license for identification. You will have to fill out a form and make several affirmations in front of the clerk to show that you meet the requirements to run for City Council. City Hall is closed on holidays and weekends. Filing closes at 5 p.m. on December 30.
